Gemma graduated from Melbourne University's BA extended program in 2013 with an undergraduate degree with a Criminology and Anthropology major. During University she was employed at the National Australia Bank in their Fraud department. For the past two years she has been employed at Victoria Police in the Corporate Strategy and Operational Improvement Department (CSOID), where she has worked in their workforce plan, corporate policy, safety community unit and currently the Priority Community Division. In her current role she works with Aboriginal Victoria, Department of Justice and the outcome of the Royal Commission into Aboriginal Deaths in Custody to ensure the Aboriginal Community and Victoria Police maintain a safe and healthy relationship. Gemma is a mother with a 10 months old daughter. She is also currently enrolled at Charles Sturt University undertaking her Post Graduate degree in Human Services. Her goal is to work in Child Protection in order to help children who are abused and neglected.
